Seville Organic Olive Oil
.
Organic olive oil from Seville.
It comes from a single farm, Monovarietal 100% Arbosana.
Our olive grove is certified organic by CAAE certification service.
Our olive grove is certified organic by the CAAE certification service. We have taken advantage of the good condition of the plantation to obtain a PURE oil and as healthy as our great-great-grandparents, an Andalusian or a Roman could have taken it.
Probably the healthiest olive oil in the world
.
the world’s healthiest and most responsibly consumed
.
At La Verea Andaluza we produce an Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil with the highest possible environmental principles and commitments. We knew that the most advanced agronomic studies indicated that we could go beyond this certification and we have done so. All our business practices, from the field to the table, are focused on capturing more carbon than we could release with our activity: we seek a positive balance in carbon capture. Among our good practices we highlight:
- We have eliminated the use of chemicals allowed in organic farming such as copper (so dangerous for wildlife and water) and sulfur, replacing them with biofumigant plants (to kill pernicious fungi) such as yellow mustard.
- We do not provide organic fertilizer because instead we plant red clover (which fixes atmospheric nitrogen)
- We do not provide organic matter brought from other places because we sow purple beer which provides such matter.
.
With all these good agricultural practices we achieve that the carbon footprint of our crop is positive as it can sequester more than five tons of carbon per hectare per year.
About carbon footprint
The article “Net ecosystem CO2 exchange in anirrigated olive orchard of SE Spain: influence of weedcover” recently published in the journal Agriculture, Ecosystems and Environment, shows the results obtained after one year of measurement in an olive orchard located in Úbeda (Jaén), where two different management methods were applied: maintenance of the herbaceous cover between the olive grove lanes and removal of the cover with a herbicide.
We do not use any pesticide to eliminate flies: we plant olivarda (a very sticky and smelly plant for insects) to scare the flies away and prevent them from biting the fruit.
We also keep in the olive grove a precious collection of sparrows, doves, partridges and some ducks that devour all the flies.
In addition, we keep in the olive grove a beautiful collection of sparrows, turtledoves, partridges and some ducks that devour all the flies and mosquitoes. For them and for the rabbits, hares and voles we leave all year round the vegetation cover and the entire edge of the farm with rosemary, thyme, lavender and evergreen trees, such as stone fruit and orange trees, which is where they hide.
The oil is certified by IndLab, one of Europe’s best and most advanced olive oil laboratories and certifiers, that the oil is free of any unwanted chemicals, in particular, free of the very harmful glyphosate.

We value our oil coming from the care of the olive tree and its fruit. The olive trees are young, they have not been pruned only once: they have only been pruned once to promote their growth.
The terrain in which they are grown, old orange trees, is particularly favorable for their growth.
The soil in which they are grown, former orange grove land, favors a good drainage of the roots, which has a positive effect on the rooting of the tree and good nutrition of the olives.
The trees are grown in the end of September, at the end of September, when they are ready to be harvested.
At the end of September we plant a precious ground cover of:
- Red clover: helps fix nitrogen and avoids chemical fertilization,
- Yellow mustard: has an antifungal work thanks to the glucosinolates it produces in its decomposition) and
- Purple vetch: which provides organic matter in enormous quantities, helps rainwater filtration and once mowed becomes a vegetative cover that prevents soil erosion, fixes CO2 atmospheric and prevents water transpiration by maintaining soil moisture during the summer.

The soil is not tilled, that is, we follow the maxim of minimum tillage to avoid soil compaction. Our work is based on providing absolutely nothing, only soil, water, organic matter and SOL, a lot of sun.Not a single chemical has been added to this soil.
This oil has been qualified by the majority of the world’s leading companies.
This oil has been rated by most panelists as Frutado Maduro. According to the Dictionary of Gastronomy it is a “golden oil whose flavor and aroma are reminiscent of fruit in an advanced, but not excessive, state of ripeness. Compared to green fruity oils, ripe fruity oils have a more golden color, a less intense smell and a milder, almost sweet taste, due to the fact that most of the antioxidants have disappeared. This is considered a positive attribute.”
It is considered a positive attribute.
This oil is free of GLYPHOSATE and other 360 chemicals.

Our family principles are the reasons why we do not use chemicals and instead take advantage of what nature itself offers us. The biodiversity of our olive grove and the biological controls protect both the olive grove and the soil.

In addition, our organic certification ensures, through specialized laboratory controls, the absence of herbicides, phytosanitary products and other contaminants.
Certified Organic
The CAAE (Andalusian Committee of Organic Agriculture) is the body that certifies that we comply with the demanding European regulations (Regulation (EC) 834/2007 and R (EC) 889/2008 based on which the entire process is subject to a system of inspection and control. In such a way that these independent and objective bodies analyze and certify all the requirements demanded for the production and elaboration of our organic oil.
Arbosana variety
.
Originating from the north of Spain, cultivated in the south, specifically next to the Guadalquivir river. Oil soft and very, but very, very good to the palate. Oil consumers, accustomed to other more common varieties such as hojiblanca or picual, are impressed by its flavor.
How do we avoid fly strike on the fruit?
.
With natural means: our small olive plantation is surrounded and crossed by a precious line of trees, rosemary, thyme, basil and lavender. It is home to our natural collaborators: birds, beetles, spiders, ladybugs and bees (lots of bees!).
They have hunted the flies and mosquitoes and small yellow traps with sugar, vinegar and saffron have prevented the need to use any chemicals to avoid fly bites.
They have been able to keep the flies and mosquitoes away.
Family production
.
Our olive trees pruned and checked one by one are surrounded by rosemary, lavender and thyme that keep away possible insects that may attack the olives.
With this care without the use of chemicals, this organic oil obtains properties, flavors and qualities that are exponentially different from other commercial oils.
